Chili

Ingredients (in order of appearance):
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1-29 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1-27 oz. can kidney beans
  • 1-27 oz. can pinto beans
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1-4.5 oz. can diced green chilies
  • 1/4 c. celery, diced
  • 1-28 oz. can diced tomatoes
  • 2 tsp. cumin powder
  • 3 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. water
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.  Drain the fat.  In a large pot, combine all ingredients.  Bring to a simmer over low heat.  Cook, stirring every 15 minutes, for 2-3 hours.
